Kate Skelly is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. She grew up in Portland, OR, and completed her undergraduate Bachelor’s of Science degree in 2006 at the University of Puget Sound. In 2012, she moved to Boise to attend Idaho State University’s Physician Assistant Graduate program at the Meridian Health Science Center. Kate earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from ISU, graduating August 1st, 2014. She also earned a Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) from Portland State University in 2009 and specialized in secondary science education, thereafter teaching high school Biology for two years in the Portland area.
Kate gained much experience in psychiatry throughout her clinical year of PA school and has always had a strong passion for and desire to specialize in the field. She is currently accepting new child, adolescent, and adult patients. Her primary role as a provider revolves around assessing psychiatric illnesses and providing pharmacological management of mental health disorders. Kate is competent in providing health services for patients with the following: mood disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders; anxiety disorders such as general anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder; psychotic disorders including schizophrenia; and other mental health concerns that interfere with life such as ADHD, PTSD, and other adjustment disorders. Kate also recognizes addiction illnesses such as substance abuse and eating disorders, and she may refer these patients to appropriate clinicians for treatment and counseling. Ms. Skelly has ample knowledge of the various methods of counseling and therapeutic treatments available in the area, and she may refer individuals to appropriate outside modes of treatment when deemed necessary.
Kate is bilingual in English and Spanish.
