Comfortable, Secure, Safe and Private Environment. While we do not agree with them, we recognize that there are cultural stereotypes associated with receiving mental health treatment that can inhibit a patient’s willingness to access care. Furthermore, in order for a patient to engage in mental health treatment, they must trust their mental healthcare provider. The patient will be engaging in therapy that targets the most protected, sensitive and personal areas of their lives.
As such, we strive to provide an environment that is calm and welcoming. With our varying range of services, we can serve as a“one-stop shop” for the patient’s mental health needs. They can see a medical provider for medication management and a therapist at the same location. To learn more about our providers, click here.
Additionally, we offer secure and alternative arrival methods for patients by request. Learn more about our services below.
Our providers are passionate and specialize in the medical management of mental health conditions while coordinating care with the patient’s primary care provider.
We believe in a combination of having medications assist in the patient’s overall mental health treatment.
We treat patients throughout all stages of life.
Our psychotherapists specialize in marriage, group, and individual counseling needs. We have Licensed Professional Counselors to provide therapy for various mental health treatments (ie anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, personality disorders, coping mechanisms, abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, etc).
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
North End Psychiatry and Associates provides the only ECT treatment in Southwest Idaho by licensed psychiatrists.
ECT is a clinically-safe treatment to alleviate symptoms of various psychiatric conditions. It’s proven to be an effective treatment modality for improving certain psychiatric conditions compared to traditional pharmacological therapies.
The basics of ECT:
– Treatment provided under anesthesia.
– Induces a controlled seizure designed to change brain chemistry and neurocircuitry.
– Treatment consists of 2-3 treatments per week for 4-6 weeks.
– Covered by most commercial insurances

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
NeuroStar TMS Therapy is a new treatment cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for patients suffering from depression who have not achieved satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant treatment. TMS stands for “transcranial magnetic stimulation.” It works by using brief magnetic pulses to help stimulate areas of the brain that are involved in mood control, and are usually underactive in people with depression.
TMS therapy is a drug-free alternative treatment for depression that is recommended by the American Psychiatric Association if antidepressant medications are not fully effective.
On-site laboratory patient service center
One of the challenges we routinely see is patients not getting their followup laboratory examinations. Most often due to convenience. Therefore, North End Psychiatry and Associates has partnered with a laboratory company to provide onsite services. We also take walk-in services for laboratory examinations.
Self-Pay Sliding Fee Scale
North End Psychiatry and Associates is committed to improving access to mental healthcare in the Treasure Valley. We have an additional model that allows for an affordable option for patients that are either underinsured or uninsured. We offer a time-of-service discount as well as a sliding fee scale for self-pay patients.
Government and Commercial Payers
For Mental Health Services
North End Psychiatry and Associates accepts all insurances and is in-network with most commercial providers, employee assistance programs, Medicare, and Medicaid.
We believe in collaboratively managing the mental health needs of our mutual patients. To streamline the process, we have created a new and efficient referral process. Additionally, if you have a patient with depression and/or anxiety, one of our psychiatrists will do an initial evaluation and recommend treatment therapy. Please know that if the patient already has a relationship with either psychiatry or psychotherapy, we gladly work with co-managing their care (ie medication management, ECT, TMS, etc).
